Event Training
Judges are an essential part of L2L events. Without judges, our students wouldn’t be able to compete at convention! The students work hard all year long on the events they complete at convention, so we want to make sure they have the opportunity to be evaluated fairly.
We sincerely appreciate the volunteers who judge events at convention, and we understand that they may not have much experience judging. Many adults would like to help judge, but aren’t confident in their ability to do so. Therefore, we’ve developed some helpful tips and instructions on how to properly judge eight convention events. These tips serve as refreshers for experienced judges and how-to guides for new judges or those who want to learn how to judge.
For each event you’d like to judge, click on the link below. The link will open a PDF document that contains a one-page instruction sheet on how to judge that event, followed by a sample evaluation sheet that illustrates the instructions.
